David Hoare Bsc(Hons) M.B.A.C.P (Accredited)
This is a page about David Lloyd-Hoare.
I believe that the most important information that I can tell you about myself, is that I too suffered dreadfully with panic attacks.
My attacks were overwhelming and frightening, and I used to live my life with the panic attacks as the one thing that everything else revolved around. My life was ruled by them, and they began to limit my entire existence. I had suffered from panic attacks for many years, and frequent visits to my doctor only brought an offer of medication which although I tried, was unsatisfactory. It wasn’t until I began to train as a psychotherapist that I began to understand what was happening to me and started my first steps towards solving this seemingly insurmountable problem.
During my extensive training of over five years, and through nearly 23 years of experience of working with people who suffer from panic attacks and other anxiety disorders, I was able not only to discover how to cure myself, but develop a way of working with people which meant that I could offer them a comprehensive and effective programme to cure their panic attacks and other related anxiety disorders. I have named this programme the Neurocalm Method™.

More About David
Let me tell you a little bit more about myself. I first began counselling work in 1987 when I worked for some years as a telephone counsellor with the Samaritans based in Greater Manchester. After a break, I chose to make a career of counselling and studied both counselling and psychotherapy. I have been working as a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist for over twenty one years, having completed four years of training in the theory and clinical application of Transactional Analysis, and achieved a Diploma In Advanced Counselling.
I have been accredited as both a counsellor and psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
To maintain my accredited status with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I undertake continuing professional development training every year. During the last few years I have gained a Diploma In Clinical Supervision, which qualifies me to offer support and guidance to other counsellors and psychotherapists. I supervise many counsellors and psychotherapists working with clients in the settings of doctors surgery's, hospices, private practice, support teams and anxiety clinics.
I have also qualified as a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming. My interest in finding ways to help people achieve positive changes in their life as quickly as possible, has led me to further my studies and qualifications in both hypnotherapy and eye movement, desensitisation and reprocessing therapy. (EMDR).
I work with individuals, couples and groups in my private practice which is based at Paignton in the area of Torbay, Devon. I am also contracted by Torbay Social Services as a psychotherapist working within the Child Protection Department. I have an ongoing commitment to the Devon And Cornwall Police working with members of their staff in the capacity of a counsellor and Supervisor.
I also work as a psychotherapist contracted to the NHS (National Health Service) providing their High Intensity Psychosocial Intervention Service for those recovering from Substance Misuse.
In the past I have co-facilitated a Diploma Level Counselling Course which was accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and hosted by the Iron Mill Centre in Cornwall. I have also delivered communications skills workshops into corporate settings and have facilitated three successful personal development groups.
I would like to reassure you that I am a genuine psychotherapist with qualifications and experience. I have been validated by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This is the professional body in the UK that accredits counsellors and psychotherapists, and sets the ethical standards for its members such as myself. You can confirm that I have genuine qualifications and accreditation by using the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy web site at:
and searching for me using David Lloyd-Hoare or my registered number of 3795. You will be able to see my Professional Accredited status.
This means that I have had to demonstrate a high level of training and qualifications, many hundreds of client hours and reflective practice. To maintain my accredited status with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I am required to undertake Continuing Professional Development training every year to keep current with the latest developments in research and new ideas. In addition, all of my work, including the Neurocalm Method™ must be supervised by another experienced therapist approved by the BACP. All this information is available on the BACP web site.
You can also visit my counselling practice web site at www.counsellinghelp.co.uk where you will find further reassurance of my identity, qualifications and ability. I have many written testimonials provided by clients who have used the Neurocalm Method™. These testimonials are available to be checked for authenticity.
I know that my own personal experiences, and my extensive training in the field of psychological care as a psychotherapist, puts me in a unique position to be able to offer you a comprehensive, effective, simple, guaranteed and inexpensive cure for your anxiety disorder.
